after a hard impact which broke the rear drivers side rim,two days later while driving home my 04 trailblazer LT would not shift or go above 40 miles an hour has a hard time with 3 gear just reves until it catches then revs again. any ideas?

There may be more damage than expected. The wheel speed sensor may be picking up or not picking up the correct spin rate due to damage possibly to the hub bearing. You should at least get a new or used rim since this is unsafe. Good Luck!
