1997 mercedes e320 injectors not opening when cranking motor

Asked by klef Jan 22, 2019 at 03:39 AM about the 1997 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E 320

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I put in a new fuel pump and it has good fuel pressure but 1997 Mercedes
e320 wont start. It has spark and compression. Runs when dispensing gas
into intake. Fuel injectors not opening. Does cam sensor control the injector
pulse? Is there anything else that may hold the signal to 12 volts to the
injectors on one side and 5 volts on the other wire to injectors. No pulsing at
all happening when cranking the engine over. Please help.

My initial thoughts are crank sensor. There may be one or more issues or parts needing replaced but first would scan for codes and test the sensors if possible. I've had some luck with a basic ohm meter concerning the crank sensors. Also make sure your charging system is up to par and the CCA load test will pass. Good Luck!
