Where or how does one get an owners manual?

Try eBay. They have owners and repair manuals.
This free download may or may not suffice for the Owners Manual, but it is an option you have and can try ( I didn't have any issues with this web address as far as my virus scanner is concerned...seems ok)...or Google for other options: http://filetram.com/4shared/2006-mercedes-benz-e-class-owners- manual-e320cdi-e350-e500-e350-e500-4matic-e55-amg-pdf- 8682092693

Seems like he should be able to order one from a Mercedes dealer for less than that. All I did was use tenspeed's idea and looked around eBay, and RacerX good idea but he did say he wanted a book instead of a download.....other than that I tried it and it's there allright, and on eBay somebody has one for sale on a CD ROM for $35 but again he wants a book. Msing it's not polite to talk in third person about you..sorry 'bout that
No worries @ DavidH25....I was simply trying to provide an alternative means for him to acquire an owners manual for free (or at least cheap), if he wanted to reference something immediately. I realize that a PDF version of an Owners manual isn't an ideal substitute for the normal book version. Hope the OP can get one cheaper than $200 though....yikes!
The Mercedes web site has most all manuals, owners literature, etc for all Mercedes models. These are free PDF downloads that you can put on your computer. From there you can read or print just the pages you need.
Hi, if you're still looking for a paper version of the manual you could try manual man: http://manualman.webs.com/
I am also old school and wanted to have in my hands the original manuals for my SL. If you already know the part number of the manual - you can go to http://www.getmercedesparts.com and order the original NEW from MB - Complete owners manual is costing me $15.63 plus shipping. They also have COMMAND and all other original owners books available. Free PDF versions of all manuals is available on the Mercedes Benz website. E-Bay was actually a lot more expensive and they only offered used manuals - go figure. If you need help locating the part number - let me know.
