Asked by missrenee1968 May 31, 2014 at 12:09 PM about the 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML 350 4MATIC

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my car always jump like someone hit it from behind and then when i step on the gas I have to mash the peddle to the floor and the car makes a lot of noise but its slow to pick up speed but the rpm needle quickly goes close to the red zone.  so I take my feet off the gas so not to hit the red zone the car immediately slows down and  feels like someone hit me again when I step on the gas again the noise happens and it picks up speed slowly with the noise and the rising rpm needle. I use to pull over and put the car in park and turn it off.  this used to work and get it back in gear I guess but not anymore.  help.

I don't think that silly Mercedes will have an easy way to check the fluid TopShade. I don't know how sure of themselves Mercedes was in 1968. Do what TopShadeTree says if you can find a dip-stick. Otherwise;skip step 1 and go to step 2.

and again- just the Anne Landers in me---make sure you find a reputable shop and get a written quote before you let them in your wallet.

probably, but that's your decision on what your baby is worth to you,I also would normally say get 2 or 3 estimates but on your car you may not have too many places that can work on it (or will). My bad I saw 1968 after your name and not the 2006 before Mercedes ;so, I think you can go to step 2.
