Transmission Stuff for 1995 Mercedes S320

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello, I have a 1995 Mercedes s320. For a while it was switch gears funny. But the other day on the freeway, its jerked really hard and then started revving real high. It drives normal at low speeds (sometimes). It feels as though its dropping out of third ( i think thats the highest gear right?) and is staying in 2nd. I checked the transmission fluid and its fine. Im worried the whole tranny is going to give out. I've read that it could be the kickback switch to many other things. Does anyone have any idea? My ex wanted the car and it was kinds his so I dont know too much about it. Thank you

I have had a similar experience with my Mercedes and I took it to an Ammco and they rebuilt the transmission. IT was then as good as new. Good luck be careful driving it
