1996 Mercedes S600

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I'm contemplating a used S600, and was wondering how durable the 12-cylinder motor is, how many miles I can expect with normal driving and routine maintenance?  The car presently has about 65,000 miles on it now.  Thanks!

this is a fantastice automobile. I own a 96 and it is a sheer joy to drive. Stay up with recommended maintenance it it will serve you well. Unbelievable power and luxury. Let me know how you like it.

Fantastic car to own. I have a 2007 model with about 45k miles. The only real issue I've had is the coil packs. After researching them online, it seems to be a common problem with the V12 motor every 50k miles. My advice would be to ask when the last time the coil packs were replaced. My repair for one of the two packs was about $2k.
