My 2002 MB S500 would not start on its own....

Asked by GuruYB37R Mar 06, 2018 at 01:22 PM about the 2002 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S 500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Brand new battery. Bright headlights. Everything working inside. However, no clicking sound when I tried to start the car. I can jump start the engine with my other car. What is wrong with my car? Please help.

Two months ago my son replaced the battery on his 2014 Mercedes-Benz C250 AMG and had the same problem. The battery was purchased at the local auto part and it seemed to be the one required in the car, was exchanged for a similar battery with the same result. He was able to start the car only when a battery with the correct amps was purchased at the local MB Dealership, but he had to pay a high price. All you may need is a more powerful battery since you are able to start the engine when you jump start it.
