4Matic refers to equipping the vehicle with 4 air-matic lift pumps on each wheel as opposed to the regular one pump. Yes 4Matic is the way to go!

4Matic is the marketing name of an AWD four-wheel drive system developed by Mercedes-Benz. It is designed to increase traction in slippery conditions. The four-wheel-drive system was developed in conjunction with Steyr-Daimler-Puch (now Magna Steyr), who manufactured the Mercedes-Benz G-Class in Austria. via wikipedia

'4 MATIC' IS A JOKE. YOU ARE MUCH BETTER OFF WITH REAR WHEEL FOR PERFORMANCE (SEE FERRARAI, ETC) AND HANDLING. YOU WILL ALSO GET BETTER HANDLING.
