2003 Chevy Cavalier 2.4 LS 4 door sedan Alternator/charging issue

Asked by macguy59 Mar 25, 2019 at 08:32 PM about the 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Altenator was only putting out 10.9 volts. After checking connections I decided
it was bad and built a remanufactured alternator. The reman took a long time
just to get up to 13.8 volts. Took it for a test drive and after only 6 miles the
battery light came on then 5 min later the ABS and Brake lights also came on
then the car died. Is the reman alternator bad or maybe the PCM(ECM) is bad
?

I have looked at the wire the entire length to the alternator (long one) and checked/cleaned the short one
