7.5L F350 No power after oil change

Asked by g350XL Feb 09, 2015 at 05:04 PM about the 1994 Ford F-350 4 Dr XLT Crew Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just picked up a 4x4 7.5L F350 from 94 a week or two ago and have been hauling dirt off
road with it. I was going to take it in to a professional mechanic to get everything double
checked this week and see about an issue with some oil blowback that's been dripping
down and burning off on my under carriage. I waited through a storm this weekend and
changed the oil while the engine was still cold with 10w-30 and a wix oil filter as well as
putting in some more powersteering fluid. once I went to get it started it clicked once and
then all power died. upon trying to restart, no power, no emergency lights, no headlights.
I jumped it with a Diesal F350 from 96 and got the same result, power comes on then dies
as soon as the turn keys, but now it's staying dead. any ideas on the issue, I'm really
regretting not heating the oil up before hand so I could know if the issue arose in the storm
or with the fluid changes.
