Tail lights are on a separate fuse, i think it's fuse #6 in fuse box by kick panel on passenger side

Copy & paste url to new tab, it works great With a little practice you can find a short anywhere and it can be used to locate shorts in ways that the instructions do not show just have to use it and follow instructions.

Check to see if licence plate light turns on, if it doesnt, check the connecting plug above the spare tire, if it does, check ground wire for tail lights

My running lights are not working. Have break lights and turn signal. If I power a wire at one of the tail lights they all work. Someone told me it could be the GEM module?

I did but it was not related to the smoked lights it was an issue with the truck where the wiring harness grounds to the frame rail by the spare tire there is a plug and the metal connectors in the plug went bad so we cut a couple wires and jumped the plug and heatshrinked everything

POSSIBLE SOLUTION: My problem: Brake lights and tail lights did not work. Signal lights worked. Additionally, when I stepped on the brake, the turn signals would speed up. Solution: After reading the answer by Mattpippert21, I lowered the spare tire. I found a ground wire, located on the inner left frame rail that was significantly corroded. I removed the corroded connector, scraped the wires, installed a new connector and re-connected to frame. As I was doing this, I found a loose wire at one of the connectors located in this location (just as Mattpippert21 noted). Upon close inspection, I found that the loose wire went into one of the connectors and in the same connector I found another frayed wire. The frayed wire and the broken wire were right at the connector and were NOT easily seen. I only found them after disconnecting all three connectors that were associated with the wiring harness (the harness runs along the inside of the left frame rail). I cut both ends of the connector off and used red butt splices and shrink wrap to repair. Conclusion: In reflecting on the genesis of my problem, I note that I was pulling a trailer and that the tail lights of the trailer flickered just prior to the failure. So, take a CLOSE look at these connectors. Look for wire damage that is VERY close to where the wires enter into the connector body. Thank you to Mattpippert21. He gets the credit for pointing me in the right direction.

The parking lamp fuse is a 15 amp fuse controls all power for lighting in the rear with exception of brakes and reverse lighting and depending on the case trailer accessories as well

If you can jumper power to the plug on the BCM and all the lights come on, then you need a new Body Control Module
