Car dies while driving, put it in park, and it turns right back on no problems

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My car randomly turns off, while driving or parked, but when I put it in park and turn the key, it comes right back on. No problems. From reading other similar posts, I am sure it's not the battery because it just started doing here within the last 3 weeks. Could it be the fuel filter or air intake? Thanks!

GM just had a big recall on faulty ignition switches. Check to see if your car was one that was affected. In the meantime, remove your key from your key chain and just use the car key by itself. Heavy keychains can cause the key to turn in the ignition while driving and shut off.
Mine keeps cutting off on me when I cranck it it shuts off and while I'm driving down the road it just cutes off outta no where I can't figure out what's wrong with it

Our 2009 Impala was dying when it was cold. I'd take it out of the garage and before I was out of the drive it quit. Would get various system error messages. Found on-line lots of people with the same problem, but no one had a fix. Took it to a repair shop, they couldn't duplicate the problem. Finally took it to a Chevy dealer. They replaced the ECM control module. Works like a charm now. Been over two months--no issues at all.
My 2008 Impala when I put it in Drive it shuts off had to put in back to neutral and then it starts up and then I had to put it in first and then second and then third but this is an automatic it shuts off when I put it back in neutral then I start it back up and then put it in Park to shut it off

All that n9nsense about key ribgs be8ng too heavy is complete B.S. shame on GM for that. I have one sibgle key. Always have. My 2010 impala switches from ON to ACC randomly. At 60moh I get a violent jolt and at 12moh I get a smooth coast. This gaooened 4 years ago and chevy charged me 2800.oo for transmissiin work AND did the recall for ignition switch. They scammed me for sure. Now its doing it again. Auto shop wint fux anything that doesnt give a code. They have so far charged me 900 for 3 diff tranny related "fixes" even after I insist its not the tranny. Mechanics have forgotten how to be mechanics. My 2010 is not part of the recall but it should be and they fix GM provides is only temporary.
