C-V shaft

30

Asked by Kevin May 08, 2016 at 03:08 PM about the 2003 Chevrolet Impala LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Would the C-V shafts from an impala fit
onto a grand am. These shafts are brand
new and still in the box????

1 Answer

340

Doubtful...if you were swapping with a Grand Prix, then yes, because it's the same chassis. The Grand Am is a more compact chassis than the Impala/Prix (W-body) chassis. Your CV axles will likely be too long. I would try to get either a refund or recoup something by selling the shafts on ebay, then go buy the correct CV axles for your car.
