where is the vin number located other than the dash or the door? Is there one somewhere on the frame?

There is, it is called a hidden VIN and is hidden and should not be discussed on public forum; usually law enforcement and Auto Theft inspectors know where these are. If auto thieves find out where these are then they will grind them off or destroy them making it harder for law enforcement to identify and recover your vehicle if stolen. Only the two public VINS are visible and the hidden VINS require special equipment to view.
