Is my power steering pump going out?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car recently started making some weird noises... it sounds like a high pitch
squeal, but its very faint... i've asked people wat it may be, but they don't hear it...
so i took it into a mechanic and they say my power steering pulley is loose (when
pulling on it, it moves side to side) and also when i take a hard left, my car makes
an additional noise, like the squeal of a belt, but it isn't quite dramatic. can
someone please help me w/ my question because i'm not too good w/ cars and
everyone here is having a hard time figuring out my problem.
Thanks

is the squeal constantly there? only on turns? or at higher rpms? if higher rpms. . could be water pump. if during turns. . then yes its power steering. . if constantly there. . could be belt. .
