my 1996 Ford F-350, 7.3 liter diesel, crew cab, long bed, dually, used to turn on, but after bumping the front bumper with another vehicle now it wont start up just cranks over.

Agreed. Another name for it is an Inertia Switch. It's a safety device that shuts the fuel supply off in an impact or crash. Your owners manual will have directions on where it's located and how to reset it.
