1997 Ford F250 gas with dual tanks

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 97 F250 big block gas engine with two tanks. It will not run off the front tank but when you move the switch on the dash the gauge works fine. Also, it seems like fuel is being pushed from the rear tank to the front tank as it runs out the filler cap and is under pressure. I cannot hear the front fuel pump run even when you cycle the key. Is there a switching valve in the system or is the problem with the fuel pump assembly?

probly the FP.fuel will run into the tank,is a overflowline going from tank to tank.is a safty feature on newer duel tank trucks.
I have a 1997 f250 with dual tanks the front fuel pump went out can take out the front fuel tank and bypass the fuel lines so they do not leak

my truck is siphoning gas from the front tank to the back tank. Luckily both pumps are working. I start by filling the front tank and run until almost empty then switch to the back tank. A little goes back to the front tank. There's got to be a valve in there somewhere that is malfunctioning. Was wondering if anybody knew what or where it is?
