5.4 triton no crank no start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Truck ran fine when I parked it, next day no
crank no start. One solid click at the
starter. Previous experiences show this
being a faulty starter or solenoid so I
remove it and take it up to the part store to
test it. It fails, I buy new one and install it.
No change. Change the starter relay, no
change. Check every fuse I can find that
has any connection to that system, all
good. Remove serpentine belt and try to
manually turn crankshaft by hand, won't
budge at all. I can't believe it would have
seized without any warning. Running
5w20, changed about a month ago, still at
a good level. I've hit a wall, please help.

Pull all the spark plugs and see if you can turn it by hand. It may have a cylinder full of coolant or fuel.
Did you ever solve the problem? My 2000 f250 is having a similar issue

Replaced starter relay on the firewall and cleaned up all the battery cables and ground wires. Problem solved. No issues since

Sidnee didya figure it out? Having same problem.
Change the gear to N. We had the same issue, all fuses were good, power was good, the car wouldn’t start and not even crank. We moved the gear from P to N and the car started right away. Apparently it’s a common thing in old cars - a sensor in the gear.
