I overheated my engine by accident

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi everyone I recently did some maintenance on
my car which involved me removing the cooling
fan from my mustang, after I put everything back
together I forgot to connect the cooling fan, I
started up the car after hit had been sitting for a
few days and began to pour the coolant in the
reservoir, I ran the car for about 15 minutes the
temperature never went above operating
temperature, after 15 minutes or so I put my hand
on the radiator hose in realized it was getting a
little too hot to touch so I shut the car off and
realized my cooling fan was disconnected, at this
point I opened my coolant reservoir to check the
coolant level and it began to bubble out, I
connected the fan wait until the car was cold off
started it back up and topped it off with coolant
and it seems to be running fine, but now I'm
worried I might have damaged my engine
