Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Smoking  periodically. Only when first starting up. Don't
smoke after a minute or so.  Drive for awhile and turn it off.
Get in start it up and sometimes smoke and sometimes
not. Doesn't smoke at all after after a minute or so.

Thx a lot. I can do some stuff, but very little. I do have someone that can do what u suggested.

What would be my best option, trying to repair this situation or just get a new engine. The body and the interior are in great shape, it was a one owner truck. Also do u have e any idea what I would be expecting to pay. Paid 3500.00 for truck 180,000 miles on it. Thx for any input.

Mr. Tennisshoes, what do u think? Someone plz help on this one. I don't want to be taken advantage of. I'm no dummy, but the mechanics of cars is out of the realm of my expertise. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thx!
