Go to AutoZone or Advanced Auto Parts or anyplace like that and have them read the trouble codes. It's free and then come back and tell us what it says.

Often the reason is a loose or missing gas cap, could be simple as that.

the check engine light stays on since i changed the fuel pump on my sport trac .just wants to know why and also the solution
