raising the idle on a 97 diesel 7.3

I can't find  any linkage or  cable  or any way to raise my idle  up about 500
rpm's on my  7.3  turbo  and would like to know what and where i need to look
to find what i need to raise the idle .

I believe the idle speed is controlled by the engine computer and is non adjustable just like gasoline engines. The dealer may be able to adjust it up by reflashing the ECM but not for free. And you may cause problems with the transmission if it's an automatic.
