2003 Chevy vortex in Trailblazer LS 4.3 flutters and dies when gas is applied

Asked by GuruY62P8 Mar 29, 2018 at 07:08 PM about the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Without reading the code it give the
same symptoms as several coil
packs going out at the same time. I
replaced all coil packs did not help
read the code p0014 replaced the
camshaft timing actuator solenoid. It
did not help. It isn't the oil although it
has some miles on the oil filter I add
a quart of oil every 5 to 6 weeks and
oil smells and looks good. I'm a
senior citizen and I'm at my wit's end.
Without transportation is going to
create additional terrible problems for
me anybody know what it could be? It
is not showing a code now but the
battery light has come on but yet the
gauge says it is charging and I've got
a brand new battery in it and it cranks
right up quickly. You can hear the fuel
pump pumping but I don't know about
the fuel pressure. It has a brand new
fuel filter that was installed about 4
months ago

Something's definitely going on when it sits for a man or two it'll start back up and run good for 100 feet then flutters no power no RPMs but if on level ground you can creep along and idle that's how I got it home on my way home from the mechanics that put the camshaft actuator solenoid in. I was wondering about maybe a modular ignition modular or body control modular or something or fuel pressure

Hello sir, the p0014 is usually just dirty oil, won't cause driveability issues. By chance you had rain recently? With a mirror, check down each cylinder (coils removed) and look for water at cylinders 4, 5, and 6. In case you did not know, there is a known issue with our hood seals.
