I'm looking at a 1987-1991 Ford F150 & the owner says there is a seal that needs replacing, what seal would it be & how much would it cost to repair it?

if it is leaking oil from back of engine,is the rear main seal, the motor would have to come out and the bottom end would have to be rebuilt.but first find out what seal he is talking about.
