1990 F150 Headlight Assembly Removal

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I thought removing the headlight assembly on this truck would be an easy
project, but it is proving difficult. Can anyone give me any pointers on
removing the headlight assembly, as mine are foggy and I want to try to get
them buffed. I am also thinking of replacing the grille. Should this be done at
the same time?

U toob has many videos on a variety of car repairs
You should be able to buff out the lights while they are on the vehicle. Check the u-tue.
For those that find this on a Google search, there are essentially six places on the headlight assembly that have to be detached. On the grill side of the assembly, there are two nuts and one bolt. The nuts hold a metal bracket in place one the back side so don't lose it. On the top there is a plastic screw and housing that need to be removed. One the fender side there are two nuts on the back side that need to be removed. Moving the windshield fluid reservoir will help you get to them easier. Hope this helps, I had to replace my fender and it required removal of the headlight assembly. See attached photos...
