Question type: General

My husband has changed almost ever sensor in his truck and even pressure
tested to see if it was an injector, and it is not. Truck takes forever to start, have
to use ether sometimes and then one it does start, it runs rough and acts like it
wants to stall. The smoke out of the tailpipe is pure black and he is going
through gas like crazy. Any Ideas ?

Id check to make sure the cam sensor is making a Signal, and get a volt meter and see what frequency the map sensor is putting out with just the key on. Theres also 2 coolant temp sensors if i remember right one for the gauge and one for the pcm

Does the vac line on fuel pressure regulator have gas in it? If so the regulator is faulty. Did you check the coolant temp sensor? Any applicable trouble codes? I did look at fuel pressure for 4.9L engine, 55 psi, key on engine off.

pressure test is good. I will give him the other information and we will go from there. We also just changed the AIC and Idle control sensor. He is getting so frustrated. Really appreciate your help .
