I have a 1992 F150. When I was driving it the the ca filled with electrical smoke smell. I pulled over shut off truck. I noticed the speedometer was not working while driving. Then I restarted it, drove about 6 miles and it began to lose power and finally stalled. The battery was dead and would not restart. I looked under the dash noticed no burnt wires, Does anyone have any idea what could have happened and what may have burnet,

You may have a short or an overloaded circuit. Has anyone replaced a fuse with something solid that won't blow when overloaded?

Check alternator, I had one that brush spring came off and shorted alternator, that wire goes directly to the battery

You will have to look around under the hood for signs of burning. Check the wires leading to the battery and any electrical wires around the engine which may have worked their way loose and melted from the heat of the engine. Have the battery checked. If it is toast, suspect the alternator.
