truck runs smouth until you give it gas

What do the plugs look like ? Check for loose/broken vacuum lines/leaks , Spray some carb cleaner down the throttle , check fuel pressure , Does the motor rev when you give it gas in park ?

Sounds like it could be spark plugs breaking down, ignition wires going bad, carbon track in the distributor cap just a lot of things it could be.

Ground to the coil(s) may do that, overall spark is weak, we can check for that~
