1993 f150 wont start

Ill start off with this, ive replaced my
old 302 ran and drove perfectly fine
just had bad rings, found good deal
with 302 out of a 1993 f150. With
warrantee. Im almost 100% sure all
connections are correct, and so on
and so forth. Starter looks new came
from old motor wasnt dropped or
nothinf was tied up to the frame.
Same battery was good seems good
havent tested neither has starter. Got
motor all done, hooked up the battery
turn key gave me a solenoid knock, so
jumped out tried jumping solenoid,
gave me same knock.... maybe
battery isnt charged enough, put
battery pack on it started sparking so
unplugged that checked cables for
positive and negative maybe had a
dumb moment yep all is good, try
again same thing spark, tried different
battery same knock and same sparks,
unplugged both batterys. What did I
miss and what would cause such a
thing, was too fed up with it and
walked off, I am a rookie wih a
multimeter but google and youtube is
good, what do I test for where and yea
so on. Ooo and motor is not locked
up, it was oiled few drops in piston
head it was rotated a few times for
torque converter and just to make
sure. The crank bearings and cams
looked pretty good also. Starter looks
fairly new but could be it.

Or the solenoid ... check your wiring again. Try taking a jumper cable negative to the engine. ( make a new ground )

Where are the grounds and ive jumped solenoid and same noise from starter just weird hiw battery would spark with cables hookrd up properly

If the cables spark violently when connecting the battery you have a short somewhere. Negative battery cable probably has two leads. One to the frame or body of the vehicle near the battery. The other goes down to the block. Sometimes there is a ground cable at the rear of the engine which also connects to the firewall separating the engine compartment from the cabin. If anywhere along the line the positive cable comes into contact with the body there is a possibility of a short. Also check the connection at the alternator for a possible frayed wire. If the wire charging touches the alternator you'll have a problem.

Ill give that a check good possibility I know my starter shorted out and is completely fried and wont do nothing, I havent done nothing to it yet I was thinking I dont remember hooking up a ground cable to block and or firewall there is one comi off neg terminal to passengers side fender

Normally the ground is not hooked directly to a fender because of the thiness of the sheet metal. An electrical arc temperature is measured in the thousands of degrees. If there was a bad connection it would burn through the fender. Usually there is a screw hole somewhere along the cross member, near the battery in the front, which is used as the radiator mount - among other things. You may want to invest in a Haynes Manuel, or something similar, to assist you further. They are year specific.
