I was wondering if I could swap a Powerstroke diesel into my 1993 Ford F-150 and what modifications would need to be done.

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 1993 Ford F-150 that I want to put a Powerstroke diesel engine into but I don't know if it is even possible. If it is possible, could you please tell me what modifications would need to be done or where I could find more information about doing a diesel engine swap.

Hello powerstrokeman-- My main personal guru, Tom Fahy of the Newton Street Garage in Brighton, Ma., tells me that he used to put diesel engines in all kinds of cars back when he was younger. He says that if the engine compartment is large enough for the engine you have in mind, you should be able to do it. Hopefully the engine mounts will line up. You also have to make sure the transmission will fit and then you will have to customize the wiring. Go for it and have fun. Good luck from Bovan.
