1994 Ford F-150 4.9l will not start

Asked by workinonaford Aug 03, 2020 at 02:24 PM about the 1994 Ford F-150 S Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck will crank over but not start. I have
replaced fuel relay, fuel pump(front tank), and
the fuel tank selector switch. The 20 Maxi fuse
is good also. I have even checked and tried to
bypass the fuel interrupter switch. This thing
still refuses to start.... Has anyone got any
ideas on what I could possibly be missing or
had this exact same problem? I’ve done a lot
of research and replaced things to still have a
truck that won’t start.

Spray some quick start in the throttle body to see if it starts for a bit. If it does, check fuel pressure at the rail, if pressure is low or no pressure trace back to relay and fuel pump. If pressure is present but still not start, check crank sensor.

I guess I should have added that the new fuel pump isn’t making the humming sound to indicate it is pumping...

That’s what I’m trying to figure out ed92626... I’ve thrown all these parts at it(new fuel pump on front tank, new fuel tank selector switch, new fuel pump relay, and tried to bypass the fuel interrupter switch to rule it out). All of this and it still won’t start. Just want to see if there is something else fuel system wise that would keep the truck from starting after I’ve replaced all these items. I’m curious if it’s still something electrical that I’m missing because the new fuel pump will not humm/pump when the ignition is turned on.
