How many 302 high output in 1994 XLT trucks

Eric, do you or anyone else know how many 302 H.O engines were put in 1994
XLT trucks? I just bought one not knowing it had the high output engine until I
went to change the plug wires and noticed the firing order was different, it is in
very nice condition and all original, I love it with or without the H.O. Engine it is
just a bonus, just wondering how you there are. Thanks, Gary

It was a mixed basket. Here is what I know from the dealership and old tablets that parts managers have collected. This is also from the books that most shops had on the counters if they didn’t have a main frame of some DOS system. There was one company that digitized the books that Ford lost a lot of in the transition from Dos to window. According to Ford The H.O. With this module dose not Exsist in a F150 XLT in Documents at Ford until 1998. There are Dead ends a generalization information. If’s some servic managers are not older and like the early 70 like 1972 birthday. They don’t know anything and they are going to get really confused when you go for parts. Here is the Gravy in 11/12/1993 a 1994 year truck. There are 150 HP motors and there are 175 HP motors all 302 5.0L V 8 If you go to any parts house other than the real old ones that have digitized parts books online. Your truck is going to have parts from 1993-1996. Here are the clues that will help you. All cars are going to be indicated as push to start ignition all the way to 1998 F150 XLT Excuse my French but that’s BS Like Ford now the roots don’t change it habits with selling Engines and custom packages for there trucks. Even if you go through a VIN decoder online it’s not going to tell you anything. The 11/121993-1997 is a indicator that you have a 100 Amp changeing system that indicates that you have a lot of requirements for the electrical system. Basically It’s a indication that you have all the options power doors locks mirrors intermittent wipers cruse control power lumber radio with cassette and mag wheels. If they are the 5 hole dinner plate no rivit style you probably have a electronic transmission. Those were not standard in the early 90’ even 93-94. The charging system is a indication along with the rims that you have a Electronic Transmission Completely control by the engine management system that is in two parts. One on the fire wall and they were brown or black there as well. They didn’t like heat so you had to use heat sync compound like on a computer cpu. They were early 20 bit Intel processor capable of using about all 20 bits simultaneously Input and Output. So some have the 19’5” long dual door dual digitally control tank systems. So If you have a 95-100 amp alternator You had your Ignition module on the fire wall driver side and it is black not brown and you have a MAP sensor and a MAF Temperature sensor along with a electronic transmission power everything inside. A V8 Engine with a 351 fire order. A engine that is hot running usually have 4 row radiator hoses that need every part of a expensive hoses and sometimes two hose clamps or a wide house clamp. It throws off Hell fire heat especially when the AC is on. Chances are you have a H.O. Engine They were angry fast and hot running. You have to have a good cooling system it has a oil cooler and a transmission cooler. It’s probably a 302 5.0 V8 EFI H.O. From what I understand about them is if you indeed have a survivor H.O. I have a parts manager 25 plus years on the job and out of all the trucks that he has encountered in a 50 mile radius from the length that I have had this truck. I seem to be the only H.O. Owner. First shock second one was that it weighs 6058 LBS it’s a two ton F150xlt I had to pay taxes on it again when it became a antique apparently some one let the cat out the bag about it being 2 ton truck. Even though it’s a F150 so they wanted 100+ bucks in sales tax from me after 25 years lol. Another way that you will know that you have under the hood a special sticker that said nothing on this engine is adjustable it is completely computer control. It even has a special feature that causes it to learn not once to Idle but has a dynamic learning system. Today if I have a lead foot it’s going to learn that and change the transmission ignition and fuel system so that it will shift at 5000 rpms every time. The answer is that there are not many. They we Lightning Models with out the intercooler system.

I have 1994 F150 XLT HO 53,900 org miles Single Cab.Gross Vehicle Wt.6250...When driving my trans. Disengages or slips out of gear...can someone recommend ho to fix or get fixed...REALLY LIKE TRUCK ,also power every thing except windows and mirror...

Check the speedometer card on the back of the speedometer, this model the speed sensor goes to the PSOM before it goes to the ECU. Mine failed the same way. Took me 8 years before I found the problem and after 3 shops had failed to figure it out.
