Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Hi, my question is: I have 2 gas tanks on my truck. 1 wasnt working correctly (the hose had a whole in it), so a friend took the hose out (without my knowledge) and Ive always just used the other tank. Now I need to get smogged and Im told it wont pass because the other tank is missing the hose!
This same friend is ill now and cant FIX the problem.
So now Im stuck.
How much should it cost to get the damn hose and install it?
Thanks :)

It shouldn't be terribly expensive..... whoop his but for doing it and the hose is about $10-12 and with a minimal tool set you can do it yourself, or hubby or boyfriend for a 12-pack
Opps, sorry, I missed the part of him being ill. My apologies
Aww thanks. So far Im finding the problem pricey...thats why Im asking here. Cheapest hose I could find was over $100.00...Auto Zone. Guess the hose is kinda fancy and specifically for gas tanks..I dont know..this is an area that leaves me so lost! And I did woop his butt (verbally I mean lol)
if it had a hole in it , it s no different than removed , each way is a leak
Yeah, a long pre-formed fill hose would be more but geez, hundred bucks still seems like a lot.

Aww thanks "Ford Nut" very helpful! "7Jimmy7" yes, but it was removed a long time ago..I just found out when I tried to get a smog Saturday. I never knew he removed it. He just said he "fixed" it :(
He fixed it allright. If you ever.....(insert story" You might be a redneck..." My favorite one ever is "If your wife has told to "get this transmission OUT of here, I want to take a bath...."
