I kind of remember there being a problem with the ignition control module getting hot and shutting down vehicle then starting back up when it cooled down.

Had a hopped up Grand Torino back in the 70's which did the exact same thing. Ford mechanic relative told me to carry a gallon jug of water in the trunk. When it did it again, pour the water over the ignition control box to cool it off. If it immediately restarted, replace the module.

Before u replace the module, check for spark when it doesn't want to start, if no spark, replace it

It did it several times today but it seems to be only doing it when i drive at slower speeds 10-30mph or while idling when on interstate seems to run fine would that still be IC module?

I would do the couple of suggestions that was recommended on your post as soon as it starts doing it check for spark or carry a gallon of water with you and pour on ignition module and see if vehicle starts back up. If you do have spark or vehicle does not start after pouring water on module post back and we will go from there because without doing those tests we would just be guessing like you are doing.

Replaced ICM ran for another 10 mins and shutdown again seemed to stutter a bit before shutting down let sit 10-15 mins ran again for another 15-20mins started to stutter like gas issue made it to right before drive way before it cut out was able to coax in, again i drive 30miles plus to worl in early morn with no issue

Ur still shooting in the dark. Check for spark when it cuts off to narrow down the problem

Sounds like the brake booster check valve is bad letting air back into engine when brakes are applied.

Here's a new twist into stalling when stopping or slowing to turn with a 2000 Explorer 5.0. At first I thought it was water in the tank that moved over the pump intake strainer and plugged it whenever slowing or stopping since if I jacked up the rear end the car would die. Dropped the tank and found the fuel pump / sending assembly totally broken loose from the mounting plate. The plastic baffle / gas reservoir that is supposed to be attached to the bottom of the tank had broken loose and over time it apparently broke the pump assembly as the gas pushed it back and forth during stopping and starting off. The resulting mess had the strainer sticking up so that when stopping the gas moved away from it. The daughter said the fuel gauge had quit working a few weeks ago then it started stalling at stops.

Sounds like a mass air flow sensor and possibly ignition coil, both are cheap and easy, Ford is well known for these two along with mapf sensor and ice. I've owned several f150s in all decades 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. After 2000, don't recommend them unless 7.3 efi diesel.
