95 Ford F150 Won't Start After Sitting

Asked by pubtech Sep 25, 2016 at 09:54 AM about the 1995 Ford F-150 XL 4WD LB

Question type: General

My ford f150 runs great, but will not start after sitting awhile, especially sitting overnight. I can hear the fuel pumps running with key ON. After attempting to start the engine and with key ON there appears to be very low fuel pressure at the shrader fuel valve. If I cycle the key a number of times the truck will usually start after awhile. Replaced fuel filter. ???????

Sound,s like the fuel pump is weak, once it biuld,s pressure will run,but once you let it set it will loose prime/pressure and will be hard to prime back up,check the fuel pressure with a guage.

Thank you! Next time it happens, I will check fuel pressure KOEO and engine running.

Turns out the problem was with my fuel pressure regulator. I changed it and the problem went away. Thank you for the responses.
