Will a 390 fit in a 1996 f150 shot bed?

It has the 4.9l I6 and I have access to a 390
and would like to swap em but don't want to
cut up my truck to get it to fit.

Scottie, I admire your imagination. But there's a balance between imagination and reality. When I was a young man I wanted to take a VW bug and put it together with an Oldsmobile Tornardo front wheel drive combination in place of the rear engine and transaxel. Never did it but I still like to think about it.

Thank you for your answers! Tennisshoes that was what I was afraid of. The engine was given to my from a buddy and said I could have it if I wanted it but I had heard a 460 would work but not a 390.

Thank you I will look into that rout. I am turning it into a fun street truck but want something reliable still.
