power window on driver side motor wont go into reverse when down button depressed. will go forward or up. replaced switch.

bench testing motor works correctly. with new switch it will go up but not down. passenger window works correctly from passenger side or from driver side switch. any suggestions

If it doesn't go down at all then it may be the gear in the window motor. Sometimes the plastic teeth will chip off. I recently replaced one myself. It runs about $1 and replacing it myself saved me a few hundred dollars.
