Engine transmission swap

Question type: Car Customization
Can I take a V8 engine and transmission out of a
2007 f 150 and put it in a 1997 f 150?

That would take a LOT of work and you would have to swap the wiring and engine computer in order for the engine and transmission to work. Not a "bolt in" job by any stretch.
Do you want to sell that 2007 Motor?

Why? The 3 valve engine is junk compared with the 2 valve. Just do the Calvan spark plug inserts and take care of it and it will go 400k. I've seen many that have, and I have both. I have a 05 FX4 and a 01 xlt both 5.4. My 01 runs like new still at 215k and the 05 is sitting right now at 132k with a spun rod bearing. The 06 is getting a Toyota 2uzfe supercharged swap. I considered a Chevy 5.3 or Navigator 4 valve 5.4 but decided to Toyota since I haven't found anyone online or anywhere that has done it yet, and reliability of course. I had a 1st gen tundra with 445k still had almost new compression and run excellent. I've personally seen 3 with almost a million miles still going too. If you have the whole donor vehicle swaps are not that hard.

This gentleman who answered your question seemed very knowledgeable I was hoping he would answer my question I have a 99 Ford F150 long bed with a Triton motor having title problems I have found a 2007 that's gutted I could put the motor right in I just don't know if it's compatible
Installing an older motor in the 2007 truck would not be smog legal. Since the engines are not the same you would have all sorts of complications. It is possible but not a "bolt in" job.
