Timing on a 2002 Blazer

I have a 2002 Blazer 4.3 and it feels like the timing is off. Some times at a stop it will be running fine then act as though it is missing and even die some of the time. As I accelerate hard it will ping. Other times under a load I loose power for a little while then it comes back. Ideas????

I changed the fuel filter with no change. I was going to change the plugs tomorrow. I only have one coil and just changed the cap and rotor. Any other ideas??????
