1999 F-150 4.6 triton engine A/C only turns off when panel selector is in off position

Asked by jrlarocque Sep 05, 2018 at 08:54 PM about the 1999 Ford F-150 XL 4WD Extended Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

is it normal for the A/C compressure on a 99 F-150 to run continuously even
when the heat or vents are selected ( A/C clutch will not disengage unless
switch for Vent, Floor, window or panel selection is in the off position) A/C
works fine but runs all winter not allowing cab to warm up properly
Question, how to fix it ( problem seems to be in the Vacuum module or
vacuum lines

The compressor should only turn on if AC is selected. Make sure the knob for temperature is turned to hot/warm, AC not selected, and check again. Could be a problem with the control panel on the dash. Google how to check AC controls on net. To involved to explain here.
