Do yourself a favor and take Tom's advice. I know that having a newborn baby is expensive BUT so is the prospective damage your facing. Your car is important now. You know, just incase. God Bless you and the treasure he has untrusted you with.

The temp is past the 195 zone which is right in the middle running at about 210-220. My antifreeze runs out really fast and I'm getting a sweet smell in the car and white smoke or steam coming from the vent not sure. It's a 2002 Chevy Cavalier 2.2 LS I would really like to give a wack at it myself just need to know what the problem might be exactly. I thought it might be the heater core but since my antifreeze has leaked out by the bottem right passenger side I wasn't sure if it needs a radiator flush/ pressure check to see if I may have a leak in the hose or Heater core problem. Any other possible prob it could be i just want to narrow down what it could be. thank you guys so much for the help and feed back.
You have all the classic signs of a leaking heater core. It's not a job you want to do yourself.
how hot does 2003 cavalier got to get before the fan kicks on
The temp runs about 210 sitting still going down the road it run right at 190 is the right
I have a Chevy Cavalier 2002 the fan wait's till it hits 220 then it waits about 4 minutes then it goes on
