why is my truck still running hot?

changed thermostat because of no heat in cabin/have no leaks and plenty of coolant/getting hot in less than 2 mile drive

You could have the following that may cause your issue. Did you burp the air from the system after you changed the thermostat? You could have a bad radiator cap, your fans are not coming on when you reach temperature. The passes in the radiator may be clogged and may need to be cored. The outside fins on the radiator are dirty and may need to be flushed with water and soap. You water pump may not be working....
