Asked by Jonothan Dec 07, 2018 at 11:07 AM about the 2001 Ford F-150 XLT Crew Cab 4WD SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I turn my wheel left or right it's like my power

what could the problem be? Fluid is a bit darker

Sounds like the belt is loose. If the belt is tight, the pump is failing.

Try this first remove power steering fluid from pump with a turkey baster or clean rag then add some Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak to pump it not only stops leaks but corrects hard steering by lubricanting seals and valves in the rack and pinion.
