The glass fell out of the side-view mirror.

Use some clear Silicone 1 to glue it back in. It will take several hours to set up though so don't disturb it.
Most auto glass shops will repair it very reason with the proper glue and guarantee it for life. Cheap at half the price. couldn't buy the special glue for the cost to fix it.
I guess I wasn't clear. Not only the glass fell out. The plastic part that holds the glass came off.
Not sure of a cure for that except possibly the same answer as before. I would try an automotive glass repair service.
Most replacement parts include the backing for mirror replacement. Mine fell out although is heated and has lighting which makes the replacement very expensive at 240. I used clear liquid nails which sets up in 24 hours and cures totally in 7 days. It can be removed with heat or mineral spirits if the mirror ever breaks. Gorilla glue expands and is not recommended. Clear silicon adhesive qorks well also. 3m makes some great automotive adhesives. Good luck
Buy a replacement mirror on Amazon. They come ready to snap in.
