possible shift solenoid

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

thinking about buying a f150 king ranch 2002. Won't shift
into 4th gear. Has no other shifting into other gears. Was
told it might be shift solenoid.  Is that an easy fix on that
style of truck. Any help please.

Plan on a whole new transmission. Get a price for a Ford rebuilt transmission from your Ford dealer. $3 grand +. I would not pay more than $1,000 for that truck and that is probably too much.
