It is common for the door ajar sensor to stick. What I did was get some PB Blaster and sprayed the latch heavily. Open the doors and spray away. It will run out the bottom onto the ground so be aware. I left the doors open but it still smelled inside for a while. After trying twice the switch released and has worked since. I did put some gun oil on the latch after it freed up to try to prevent it from happening again

Check the light switch located in the door jamb it might not be working. Easiest way is press it with your finger in and out to see if it turns on and off the lights.

On the 2002 F 150 the sensor is in the latch not on the A or B pillar like on most cars. You can't just push it like usual.

Tried WD-40, then replaced the power lock/sensor in the 2009 F-150 driver door. Still doing it, ran wire for a few inches in the door cant see anything frayed....help.
