Check the crank position sensor, cattilitic converter had one stopped up before had no power and was slow
I hope the truck does not cost more than a few hundred dollars.
Try to get the OBD2 trouble codes read. That truck probably has set a bunch of them. Post the codes back here and we will try to help.
My friend had the same problem on his 97 f150 4x4, turned out to be a sensor on the transmission was fried. He replaced it and that fixed it.
Do you know which sensor was giving him this problem?
My 2015 f150 ecoboost did’nt want a go at speed 25 to 30 mph but after 30 mph it running great ?
Trying to see way my 1979 ford f100 does not pickup speed
Did you ever figure out what it was . I just bought a 09 ford f150 and its doing just that ... and if i try to push it over the speed it chugs and makes loud noises ...feeling very ripped off at this point !!
The timing chains and cam phasers are notorious on the two and three valve titan motors, if its hi-mile and has multiple misfire codes check your chains, tensioners guide rails,VCT solenoids, and phasers. If guides are broken or chains are slack, get RID of it! I'm doing a timing set on my customer's E-350 superduty with 5.4 motor, it is going to cost him in excess of $2,400....Assuming there's no further damage. Remember people: These are interference engines!!!
the intake is full of dog food from a mouse, the sensors wont let the butterfly open so no damage just shop vac it out. seen it so so many times. remove the air intake and shop vac it
