Shaking in the rear end

dynamic balancing needs to be done...inspection for foreign objects in the treads...tire care is needed~

Does the shaking occur while turning a corner or all of the time?Or at what speed?Also do you have aftermarket rims?

Stock rims does it all the time when I get up to 55

This might be a shot in the dark but it happened to me on my 1988 GMC EXT.CAB.The driveshaft was out of balance and it shook bad.I took my truck to a machinist shop and he said the driveshaft was out of balance.So he balanced it and no more shaking.Try it .It sounds like you have covered everything including cleaning all the mud off your rims.GOOD LUCK!!

Bent wheel or axle? Tire shop could have installed used weights that popped off. Put the rear of the truck on stands and run it up to 55 and see what's shaking. For God's sake - be safe and don't do it alone!

I know you said that the tires are new.I worked in a auto shop as a CSA for 8 years.We sold tires,batteries,parts,and did mechanical work.I sold alot of NEW tires that came off the truck,they wre brand new,and alot of them had a slipped belt in them,I MEAN ALOT.The tire looks good but the only way you can spot a slipped belt is to put the tire on the balancing machine on sloww speed and watch the tread.You can actually spot the slipped belt by the tires motion.A slipped belt in a tire will cause shaking,so if you have not found the problem yet,take it in too your tire shop and ask the tech.to check for a slipped belt.GOOD LUCK!!

I put it on jack stands and did that still shaks

...been drivin' it off-road Dustin? things can get bent and get un-cooperative.~

U-joints have "needle bearings" in them...yes they can come undone and let the needle bearings out making a mish-mash connection of a solid one~

No I have not drove it off road I have not touched the mud

an examination of the troubled assembly is in order...put it up...push and pull...twist...check free play...note anything out of the ordinary...a mashed up u- joint would become apparent~ this buggy does not have independent suspension but a solid axle? no~?

couldn't be like a subaru or troubled 4wd taurus...I know these and is a solid casting of an axle with a differential in the middle....what is causing the death wobble could very well be a simple dynamic balance of your wheel...having it "balanced" is NOT the same as a dynamic balance....gotta be spun-man, at the same or higher than freeway speed and note the resonations that may occur~ Dynamically Balanced...was a tire buddy the years 1983-1984 and used to have to operated this "computerized balancing" machine...we used LEAD weights then~

switch that wheel with your spare...to see this problem disappear~

I have a 2008 that shakes in the bed between 50 an 57 just bought tires and balanced them

Fixed it for a couple days then it's right back
