My idle in the truck surges up and down
tries to die and then shoots back up.. any
ideas?

This could be caused by bad O2 sensors. Is your check engine light on? If so go to an auto parts store and have them scan it free of charge. Reply with the codes and/ or look up what they are and how to fix it.
