Why wint my windows roll up or down?

Asked by Devin Aug 10, 2020 at 04:48 PM about the 2003 Ford F-150 XLT Crew Cab 4WD SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

the other day i got a new dome light. It worked great. As i
screwed it in the lights stoped working. The next day i tried
again still no luck. Now my windows wont roll down. Im
pretty sure they are related because my windowds had no
problems prior to that. My thinking is the screw went in the
wrong place or i screwed it in to far? Any suggestions?

You shorted the wiring. You should always disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery before performing any electrical work for this reason. Check the fuses for the dome light and windows, they are probably blown.

Thanks tdolby. That was it. Yeah never really done electrical work on my car. Thanks for the info. I wont be doing that again lmao.
